Katie Holmes will play Jackie Kennedy in the eight-hour miniseries The Kennedys, set to air on the History Channel in 2011. It will be the cable network’s first scripted program. Greg Kinnear has been cast as JFK, Canadian actor Barry Pepper will play Bobby Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson will play their father, Joseph Kennedy Sr.

In a surprising move, TBS announced today that Conan O'Brien will join the Atlanta-based cable network in November as host of his own late-night show.
The deposed former star of The Tonight Show, who was paid millions when NBC decided to return Jay Leno to the 11:30 p.m. spot, will end up not on Fox -- as widely suspected -- but on a comedy-focused cable network. One of the so-called "gatecrashers" from last November's White House state dinner has reportedly signed with Bravo to be a central figure on its upcoming Real Housewives of D.C..
The Daily Beast reported that Michaele Salahi, who showed up uninvited to the dinner with husband Tareq Salahi, has already filmed 12 episodes with the rest of the Housewives cast. The show is expected to premiere later this year.

Sarah Palin has found a home for the reality series idea she was shopping around in Los Angeles a few weeks ago.
TLC, home of Jon and Kate Plus 8 and part of the Discovery network of channels, is teaming with Palin and Survivor creator Mark Burnett on an eight-part documentary series tentatively titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska.
"I look forward to working with Mark to bring the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans," Palin said in a statement released by Discovery.

NBC is bringing back The Rockford Files this fall, with Dermot Mulroney as private detective Jim Rockford and, according to an online report yesterday, Beau Bridges as his truck-driving dad.
The original series ran from 1974 to 1980 and starred James Garner as Rockford and Noah Beery Jr. as his father. The remake will be produced and written by David Shore, creator of Fox’s House.

The folks at Saturday Night Live today spilled the details on Betty White's upcoming appearance on the show.
White will host the Mother's Day weekend edition of SNL on May 8, an episode that also will feature six former female cast members: Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.
White, 88, never had children, but producer/creator Lorne Michaels quipped to USA Today that "she's the mother of us all in comedy."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Keri Russell is in the final stages of talks to sign on to a new sitcom produced by Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz.
The new project entitled Wilde Kingdom is also set to star Arrested Development's Will Arnett who will play Russel's love interest.
