Jay-Z is joining many music critics in saying the classic "We are the World" anthem should never have been remade.
The updated version of the 1985 song for charity was recorded last month, and the song and video debuted Friday night during NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. Many critics didn't like the new version, which included some new lyrics and rapping. Jay-Z, who did not participate in the all-star recording session, said he would have rather have seen a new song written to benefit Haiti.

The remake of the classic USA For Africa anthem "We are the World" will premiere tonight during NBC's coverage of the Olympics' Opening Ceremonies.
More than 70 artists -- some apparently still unrevealed -- participated in the recording session, which was organized to benefit victims of the Haiti earthquake. It will premiere 25 years after the original, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

According to British rag, Guardian, Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of the late Curt Cobain and Courtney Love, is following in her parents' footsteps and joining the music industry.
Frances' voice will be featured in a project called Evelyn Evelyn, a concept created by Dresden Dolls band members, Amanda Palmer and band-mate Jason Webley.
