The 2010 FIFA World Cup kicked off in South Africa on Thursday night with an energetic, emotional concert capped by Shakira's performance of her African anthem "Waka Waka (A Time for Africa)." The Colombian singer shook her hips in Soweto's 40,000-seat Orlando Stadium, flanked by African dancers and cheered on by a sold-out, soccer-crazed crowd. The night also included performances by Alicia Keys and by the Black Eyed Peas, who rocked the house with a 10-minute-plus set capped off by "I Gotta Feeling." See the highlights:

After calling off their tour last August--allegedly due to frontman Steven Tyler's ongoing painkiller addiction, the members of Aerosmith are scheduled to come together once more for a European tour this summer. Reuters reports that the group currently has two tour dates, the first on June 10 in Solvesborg, Switzerland and a second on June 13 at the Download Festival in Leicestershire, England, with more dates to be added shortly. The two-hour "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon aired tonight on over 30 networks across America and around the world, and it's hard to decide if the all-star lineup or viewer response was more impressive. The benefit's phone lines and website were clogged for the majority of the show, and will continue to be open for the next several days in order to recieve every contribution possible. PollStar.com has compiled its list of the Top 50 Tours of North America for 2009 and U2 came out on top. Their two tours, the "No Line On The Horizon Promo Tour" and the "360" tour, grossed a total of $123 million dollars and sold more than 1.3 million tickets. U2 beat out second place's Bruce Springteen & The E Street Band($94.5 million) by about $30 million. Coming in third were Elton John and Billy Joel, who toured together, with $88 million.
