YouTube screenshot of Crystal Bowersox, performing at age 13
A video of a 13-year-old Crystal Bowersox performing in 1999 in Huron, Ohio, popped up on YouTube on Thursday. It's a fascinating look at the young Crystal, who clearly had already found her voice as an artist but also sounded notably like one of her favorite singer/songwriters, Jewel. In it, a guitar-playing Bowersox performs what appears to be an original song -- a multitude of Googlers can't seem to find it anywhere -- on the Cathy Black Show at the Huron Boat Basin. A local videographer dug it up and posted it, and is also promising to post her rendition of "Desperado." So, Bowersox fans: Would you like to see her release this one...
