The holiday season is always a busy time for the box office, with families spending both extra time together and that extra holiday cash. This season will be no different with a family affair of flicks hitting theatres soon. Arriving in theatres November 6th, A Christmas Carol, the motion-capture animation starring Jim Carrey as eight different characters in this remake of the holiday classic. Touted as "a new vision of the classic tale" on the film's site, A Christmas Carol will be available in 3D and IMAX in select theatres. On November 13th, Wes Anderson's adaptation of the Roald Dahl's classic children's book, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, will hit theatres starring the voices of George Clooney (the Fantastic Mr. Fox himself), Meryl Streep (Mrs. Fox), Jason Schwartzman (Ash), and Bill Murray (Badger). The week of Thanksgiving will be the week to watch out for with several highly anticipated films opening both the week before and the week after. The week before on November 20th, New Moon, the latest edition to The Twilight Saga, The Blind Side, a real-life family story starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw, and Planet 51, an animation starring the voice of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, will each open. The day before Thanksgiving, November 25th, will welcome the latest animation from Disney, highly anticipated due to it's rendering in the "classic Disney" style, The Princess and the Frog, as well as Old Dogs, a comedy starring Robin Williams, John Travolta, and Seth Green. Not to be outdone by November, December has it's own line-up starting with Everybody's Fine, a film about a father (Robert Dinero) visiting several cities to see his children and grandchildren, hitting theatres on the 4th. The holiday season rounds out on Christmas Day with the release of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel, and It's Complicated, a comedy about a divorced but reunited couple played by Meryl Streep and Alec Balwin.
