Corey Haim -- one of the "two Coreys" who starred in a string of '80s hit teen movies, was found dead today at age 38.
Haim, the star of The Lost Boys, Lucas and License to Drive who was often linked to fellow teen idol Corey Feldman, had a history of drug problems. Haim had flu-like symptoms before he died and was found with over-the-the counter and prescription medications, Police Sgt. William Mann said.
Mann cautioned about making assumptions on the cause of Haim's death.
"He could have succumbed to whatever (illness) he had or it could have been drugs. Who knows?" Mann said. "He has had a drug problem in the past."
Haim was found unresponsive in his apartment and was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank. An autopsy is planned. Police Sgt. Michael Kammert said there was no evidence of foul play.
In 2007, Haim and Feldman joined forces on the A&E show The Two Coreys. The two appeared on CNN's Larry King Live and Haim discussed his drug use.
Haim called himself "a chronic relapser for the rest of my life."
"I think I have an addiction to pretty much everything," he said. "I mean, I have to be very careful with myself as far as that goes, which is why I have a support group around me consistently."
