The Facebook fans -- all half-million of them -- created a movement that Saturday Night Live apparently couldn't ignore.
Beloved comedian Betty White, who has enjoyed a surprising surge in popularity since her Snickers ad aired on Super Bowl Sunday, told People.com on Sunday night that SNL has caved to public sentiment and invited her onto the show.
White did not provide details to People, so there's no word whether she will host or just appear, or when it might be. Saturday Night Live has a policy not to comment on such matters until details are finalized.
"I don't know why or how," White told People at Elton John's annual Oscars viewing party. "But (the attention's) been wonderful."
